Another cordless drill question - C18 vs T18+3?

OK, I may have missed something really obvious, but what is the difference between the C18 and the T18+3 (apart from the shape)?  A couple of the torque figures seem to be slightly different - and what is the '+3' bit all about?

Some other users will have to chime in about torque differences, from my understanding the main difference is simply ergonomics.

The +3 just refers to the set version, where you get the three fastfix chucks: the 90 degree, the eccentric, and Jacobs.

No, it doesn't.

When Festool introduced the T12+3 and T15+3 they were one of the few brushless drills around because the technology was all very new . A brushless motor is more powerful than a conventional brushed motor and this is why they used the +3, to indicate that their drill was as strong as any other drill from a 3 volt higher class. So the Festool T12+3 would compare to a 15 volt drill, and the Festool T15+3 to an 18 volt drill.

This idea is outdated now, and they dropped the name with the C15/C18 drills.

You're correct about the ergonomics though, that's the only real difference between a T and a C drill.

Thanks for the correction. I guess this is a good lesson for a layman not to post a reply in the Ask Festool subforum.

OK, thanks.  The additional chuck sets are available for both so it wasn't going to be that.  There is a difference in the stated torques - 27/40 for the C18 and 35/50 for the T18 - which still intrigues me.

For some reason, I think I prefer the C.  [unsure]

One apparent difference in these two drills confuses me.  On page 120 of the 2016 USA catalog, It shows the C 18 Plus and T 18 Plus sets are both $495, but the t 18 Plus set also includes the eccentric chuck, so I assume that means the C 18 Plus set does not.  Is that correct?

There is no difference in price and scope of delivery between C18 and T18.
Both T18 and C18 “Plus versions” include 2 batteries and charger. Both “T18 and C18 Full Set versions” include in addition to the plus version an eccentric-chuck and right-angle chuck.
