My Kapex was working 1 day and not the next. No smoke smell so I call support and they of course want me to send it in, I ask about the control board any was told they hardly ever go bad. Now I love all my other festool about 10. But the Kapex has never been my favorite. Mine is very lightly used but is older. Today I decided to see if I could figure out what is wrong with it. I jumped out the control board and it works fine. My question is has anyone else done this & should I get a new control board or just use it without?
Thanks for any comments

So, I take it your saw is out of warrantee.  I would not endorse a self repair if there were warrantee for fear of voiding what is left.  Second, if you are confident (seems that you are because you knew how to jump the board) go for the repair.  Finally, if you can get the parts, go for it.

I can’t comment on the methodology or reasoning, but I would say that you have done more than most and for that I commend you.

Best of luck.  Let us know your results.

I've had two saws dye on me and both times they covered it under warrantee! Not thrilled this is happening but overall I love the saw and use it practically everyday in my cabinet installation business. I think they are building everything on the 240 volt input and modifying somehow to the USA market on 120 volt? Not sure! Has anyone got more info on this?
