Another Kapex Extension Table

I modified Neil's attachment method for an extension table.  I used some 3/4" aluminum angle iron to connect directly to the Kapex instead of connecting to the crown molding extensions.  The nice thing about this method is that it just drops into place.

Here is a picture of the v slot on the Kapex:

Now with some angle iron in the v slot to show how it will work:

I cut a rabbet in the table to hold the angle iron and to get it to the correct height:

Here is the extension with the angle iron in place:

Right now I haven't decided whether or not to clamp the extension table to the Kapex or just use gravity.  The built in clamp will hold the extension table in place.

I use a cart for my Kapex made from parts of an old Sperry-Univac.  This just happened to line up perfectly with my MFT 1080 with a piece of 3/4" plywood on top.  So, I just line up the cart next to my MFT and use the MFT to hold my extension wing.  This made it so I didn't have to come up with a support for the extension

Great ideas John - I can make out the small photos - would love to see you include larger photos if possible.

I ended up remaking my height adjustment legs - the original ones cantilevered off of the cross-rails on the MFT/Kapex.  Since I had purchased a MFT/3, I wanted to be able to use the extension rails on either the Kapex or the MFT/3.  The new adjustable legs really work well.

I'll post photos over the long weekend when I'm back in town.

Nice work on your simple extensions!

I added a few larger pics as attachments at the end.  If you click on them they should get larger.
