Hello all, I just wanted to post some of my pictures of the saw stache dust collection improvement.

First I bought an extra boot so if I have a need to use my aux fence for tear-out free cuts, I can swap in the original dust boot.

- Festool 200215 Kapex Replacement Dust Extraction Boot
- Fastcap Saw Stache, 2in, 1-ft (https://www.fastcap.com/product/saw-stache)
- 3 x M3 - 10mm screws and nuts
- 3 x M3 washer
- 1/2 Alunimum Flat Bar at 1/16 thickness
- 1/8 Drill Bit

The pictures look great.  Did it get you want you wanted?  I have the items to do the same but haven't done it yet.

Yes. As you can see, there is no where for the dust to escape. I’m in the process of upgrading to a 36mm moose as well.

I recently got the Kapex REB and want to order a separate Apron to have one setup with the Saw Stache and also keep the stock one intact. I have seen the 200215 part number for the REB saw, but 471316 for the older EB saw.  They look identical. Do you think they actually created a brand new part number which is unique, or simply gave it a new part number with it being the same?

Only reason I ask is I can’t find the 200215 in stock, but have seen the 471316. And, the old part number is like $6 vs $20 for the newer.

Great photos and parts list. Special Thanks for providing the parts detail, all too often missing from new posts. Re: 200215, I see it in stock on Tool Nut  for $30. In the world of Festool that's about as cheap as anything gets...

Update:
So I ordered a 471316 Apron which was $6 + $5 shipping and just got it and when I compared it to the original they are identical.....and my original as stamped with the 00471316 part number.  Guess I would have known awhile back if I had just pulled off the apron to begin with, and I would have seen the part number then.

Order the 471316.

Thanks for the tip. Loving the kapex plus the improved dust collection. A short 36mm hose helps too! I can now do very quick cuts in my garage with the miter station against the wall and not kick up a storm.

I just opened mine up and the stamped part numbers are different but they are otherwise identical. Glad we took a chance on the cheaper part. Saw stache should get here in a few days.

I am confused as to which side of the stache should be attached to the rear (outside) of the boot.
There is a indented lip on one side of the stache and the other side is flat.
Which side should be used to attach  to the back side (outside)of the  kapex boot for a better fit and better performance ?
Thanks

For me, the indented lip facing outward.
