Another ProMaster Van Racking

Here's my last cabinet in the ProMaster.  It holds my Kapex, MFT/3 Kapex and CMS. The drawers will be for CMS stuff and other misc goods. I was given a great suggestion by Reinhold to slide the cabinet over just enough to fit the MFT/3. I'll try and do that tonight!

I have a sprinter packed with 40 something systainers.  I would love to have the organization that is shown in this pic. Great job man.

Thank you!  I'll be fitting more systainers between the two cabinets on the drivers side. I'll still have good floor space and can carry sheets when necessary!

Darn it Bob!  Stop being so organized!  And do standard Festool systainers cramp your style?  [poke]

Love it.  Now if I can only get Brice to hijack your thread and at least post some exterior pics of his Transit. [tongue]

One of the earlier pics I posted, above the 3 drawers was built for midi systainers. I'll be ordering those soon! Most of my setup is what I rolled with in the pickup with some additional stuff that I don't have to take out/put in/shuffle around, etc.

I'm really happy with the way this is coming along! I have just enough length for my 2700 rail to ride on top of the drivers side cabinets!

I'll keep following up progress!

Brice where are ya??? I wanna see photos! I've been working on this stuff at night in single digit temps...I don't wanna hear any excuses!

Your ride is coming along nicely Bob.  Be sure to let us know how it works out in a few weeks.

Here's a quick picture.  I've ordered a partition, wire mesh for the windows and roof racks this week and it'll be a week or so till they come in.  After that I'll start a new thread so I can stop hijacks yours.... [embarassed]

Bob that Kapex looks to clean and shinny doesn't it get used.

Tim, that Kapex was purchased on day 1 when it was released in the USA. It gets used almost daily!  The only reason it's shiny is cuz of the syslite!

So I slid my Kapex/CMS shelf over lastnight to make room for my MFT/3. It left me just enough room to fit my final column of shelves for my sawing systainers (TS75, TS55R & Carvex). I'm super thrilled!  I ran out of the shelf pins and need a few more to complete but you can get the gist!

In an attempt to sort of future proof a part of my storage system (hopefully UL hears my desperate plea), I made a way to store my CMS router module in the hopes that we may one day see the TS insert. This way I can safely store my router insert and carry a second in the CMS itself!  Here's to hoping...do you hear me Mr UL??

Bob I bought my Kapex on day one to. I hate to show a picture of it. It looks quite bad compared to yours.

Hi Bob,

So far, I've only seen your van pics that you sent via text.  Everything is really looking good now that I've seen them on the large screen of the computer.

Hi Bob

Great setup! I'm envious - love these DIY racking setups and all the planning that goes into the design and details. There are two things I have to do in life before I die: 1) Get a date with Charlize Theron and 2) Build a racking system for a van. I know one of them seems hopelessly optimistic but I sincerely hope that one day I'll be able to post pictures of my very own van racking right here on the FOG.

Thanks for the pictures - keep'em coming.  [smile]

Great Van with à nice tool setup !

I did not know there was a dodge version of the fiat ducato !

Bob, You are doing a great job.  Many of these van setups are giving me ideas for setting up my own small shop space.  In another 20 years or so, when I get to be 40, i will get rid of my open-backed pickups and open trailer and get something closed in.  I like the way the new model vans look and they seem to be a lot sturdier than older models.  (The same is true of the newer pickups)

I am wondering how your shelving, both on runners and on shelf pins, will hold up when the frost starts going out of the ground this spring (I know ??????? it is coming) with the resulting pot holes.  That will be the acid test.  Or do you drive a little slower than me?  Oh! I know!  Your roads are much smoother, being much closer to the Governor's bailiwick!  [huh]

Bob,  You are a trooper!  I now you've been doing all of this while also working out of that van when time allows (even till 2 AM) in really cold crappy weather.  Impressive.

Thanks Wayne!  I've already had many tests thrown at this van with potholes. It's so bad in CT that they've have to shut down some of the major highways or at least reduce down to 1 lane to fix a ton of potholes. I've not had a single systainer bounce out of place yet!
