i was so excited to receive my reconditioned ts55r and of course my enthusiasm was ruined by a dead fly on the systainer. so unlike festool to not vacuum the  flys from boxes before shipping....  [mad]

I would demand a replacment with a brand new one........and send that soiled one to me for closer inspection

Is this meant to be sarcastic? A dead fly in my soup is gross, but a dead fly on the box of a used tool wouldn't even raise an eyebrow TBH. And I thought I could be demanding lol. A TS55R disaster for me would involve me being injured, not an insect.

That Fly IS reconditioned. Just not in active way. [wink]
Besides, if it isn't green, it's not really from Festool and is a stowaway ... [embarassed]

I think if you call Service they will take care of the problem and send you a live fly without delay.  [big grin]

Must have come from Festool Australia, as we have plenty of flys down here!

It isn't 240v is it?

Could have been worse.  When the Fogtainers were in production a flock of birds sat in the tree overhead and ...  Cleaned them off before shipping except for one.

OOPS.

Peter

Dear duburban

Festool would like to apologise that your fly isn't operating to your satisfaction. As with all reconditioned tools, the fly was full disassembled, inspected, worn parts were replace and then re-assembles and run on mains power for thirty minutes.

The fly was fully functional upon despatch, we believe the problem is probably a transport issue.

We will be sending a swarm of new flies in you general direction. Please do no hesitate contacting Festool service if you have any other insect problems.

Regards,

Festool Service

Hmmm the US, a Fly be careful could be a government thing. Dissect it and look for a chip. May send info to your govt on tool collection.  [scared]

Ever since FestoolUSA took Brice's advice and started Armor-All'ing everything before shipping, I bet the fly got asphyxiated from the Armor-All (his lungs, however, are nice and shiny)
