Any Info On Dura-grit 5 in Carbide Sanding Discs ?

I was wondering if anyone has any info or has used the Dura grit sanding discs.  I am wondering if they really hold up to much use and if there are any drawbacks to using them.  The hole pattern they display on their website does not seem to be consistent with festool's pattern.  I haven't talked with them yet to find out if other options are available.  Would appreciate FOG's evaluation.  Thanks

Are these the ones made out of metal that have a copper/gold color to them?

Yes, they say they are made out of tunsten carbide and supposedly last alot longer than other sanding discs.

That's too funny.  I was given test samples of these at least 15 years ago for use in my bodyshop.  Don't remember if it's the same company.  Seemed like a great idea at first, but the metal edge would dig into the surface I was working on since it's a stiff disc and the heat build up caused them to warp a little so they no longer stayed flat on my da's pad.  I stopped using them and stuck with the good 3M stuff at the time.

The ones I used years ago were Perma-Sand from ProblemSolvers, Manchester, Connecticut.  Just found all the paperwork from 1993.  CEO that I dealt with was Jay Savery if any of this helps.

I'm in the process of placing an order for a number of Dura-Grit items. I came across DG looking for the old Carbide sanding disks that I used years ago on body work, etc (a do-it-yourselfer). I believe I bought them at Sears. They worked very well except I would end up tearing the metal disk edge and then straightening them. They were a pain but were good for fast/rough cutting. I still have a couple of beat up 6inchers an a 5".

If no one has taken you up on your offer I'm interested. What diam/grit? Do they have a center hole?

JohnK36, do you know where you got your 6 inch sanding pads from, as the duragrit site only have 5 inch discs?
