I would like to by some of those special edition Festool-blue systainers without the syslites  [drooling]

They aren't blue, they're black.

http://www.festoolusa.com/power-tools/work-lamps/syslite-led-work-lamp-4-pack-w-systainer-sys-2-499730

For a limited time, we are offering 4 SysLites packed in a Systainer SYS-2 for a special price! In other words, buy 4 SysLites, get a SYS-2 for free! Making this even better, we have a small quantity of limited edition Festool-Blue Systainers.

Once the special edition Festool-Blue Systainers are sold out, this pack will come in a standard grey Systainer.

I'm not seeing the four for the price of two at $700?

Me personally, I'd like to have a moulded insert.  No need for the little bags.  That way you can open the box, spread the lamps

and get to work.

It does not say that you get 4 for the price of 2. Its says that you get 4 SysLites in a SYS2  [wink]
I agree with ya on having a molded insert, but this way I can buy it and sell all 4 of the SysLites and have the cool blue systainer [cool]  I already have 2 SysLites, I can't see a reason to have 6  [eek]

Shane, re your new avatar.

Festool paying its employees very well I see!!   [smile]

Stephen, I mentioned in another thread that it's from my recent visit to the Porsche museum in Stuttgart. I wish I could afford one... It was just my size.  [wink]

I drive a red Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab. Like this one, but with sidestep bars and not as clean.

Nice  [smile] I am sure the side step bars make it more so.

Not only the colour of the USA Syslite systainer itself is different but also the handle has a different colour then the European model.

Thx Runhard,  long day yesterday.  I'm interested in SysLites at a discount if any collectors just want the box.

Well spotted. So it looks like they're going to be Sapphire Blue with Festool green latch. Which is pretty much what I was expecting the next generation of Fogtainers to look like... [unsure]

Unfortunately most of the discount would be negated by shipping cost. If I sold the syslites for $150 a piece plus shipping, it wouldn't be much of a savings for someone. It might be easier for me to buy the systainer from someone who doesn't care about having it, but wants a lot of syslites... I'm pathetic  [doh]

Or I can just hope for some FOGtainers in the near future  ???

The handle is green. The image I posted was meant to be representative of the color of the Systainer.

So the picture that appears on some American web-shops and Festool USA doesn't represent the real colour of the systainer handle?
You better sort that out because people might be mislead by that picture.

Online dealers are probably not using this image and are using the images provided of the SysLite 4-pack itself. I doubt anyone will buy this because they want a blue handle versus a green one... But I could be wrong.

I'll spot check the dealers who have posted this to check the image(s) used. Edit: I looked and none are using that image, as suspected.

I posted the image I did because, like I said, some of the photography makes the systainer look black, which it is not.

Shane,

Have you actually seen one of these? I ask because that picture you've posted is EXACTLY the same as the version that was released in Europe, and that systainer was definitely black.

Tanos make the systainers in various standard colours, including Sapphire Blue (the colour used for the Fogtainers) and Black. There is no darker blue than the Sapphire Blue, unless Tanos have produced a special colour just for this product, which I very much doubt.

Edit: I've just checked, and when that set was released in Europe it was described as being in a 'Festool Blue' systainer. Despite this, the systainers themselves were the standard Tanos colour 'RAL9004 Black' (this is definitely darker than the RAL 7016 Anthracite).

That looks black to me  [cool]

They are (dark) blue. Admittedly, it looks black in some of the photography.

sys_sys2tloc_497564_z_01a_blue.jpg

To me this kind of systainer looks like a 3D rendering and not the real product?
As mentioned above by other people the one in Europe is definitely black.

I haven't seen this sytainer in person, but knowing Festool's colours it's probably the same dark blue Festool uses for all  their tools, named RAL 5004 Black Blue.

[attachimg=1]

On the picture Shane posted it looks black on the front, but that's how it works with Festool Black Blue when the light doesn't hit it directly. The blue is so dark that when there's no direct light on it it looks black.

When you look up top of the picture near the green knob, you clearly see a blue hue around it. That's where the light hits it directly and only then will you see the blue haze.

To me they look to be the Tanos Sapphire Blue Resin used in Festool molds with the Festool logos over printed or molded in Festool green then the Festool Green latch and the Festool Green handle that has been on some special edition models.  A very unique and pricey box to produce even in larger quantities.

I have not seen it in person firsthand. I don't work out of the main office right now but telecommute.

However, I double-checked with someone to ensure it was dark blue and it was verified.

We do not have a professional photography studio at Festool USA HQ, so the lighting and color value quality if not always great.

All I can say is what I've been told, it's blue. I'll be in Indy next week and will look for myself.

Let's refrain from the Great SysLite 4-Pack Systainer Color Debate until then.  [wink]

Hey, look, now it looks blue.

Shane,

You don't need a pro photo studio, you have Syslites to get the color rendering correct.  ;)

Shane, could you tell us which of the new items are limited and which ones will be stocked items. I know that it was said that the Installer Sets would be limited and I'm assuming the Carvex models will be stocked. What about the rest of them?

Yes -- that would be great to know.  Thanks!

Scot

SysPort 500, SysLite 4-Pack, Centrotec Set (all three versions) and ZOBOs are all limited availability.

Carvex Cordless, SYS-MFT, SYS-Storage, SYS-MIDI will be regular "catalog" items.
