Any new Festools on the Horizon?

I haven't seen this sytainer in person, but knowing Festool's colours it's probably the same dark blue Festool uses for all  their tools, named RAL 5004 Black Blue.

On the picture Shane posted it looks black on the front, but that's how it works with Festool Black Blue when the light doesn't hit it directly. The blue is so dark that when there's no direct light on it it looks black.

When you look up top of the picture near the green knob, you clearly see a blue hue around it. That's where the light hits it directly and only then will you see the blue haze.

I'll fess up, I have one of these from Europe.  I think Alex's explanation is pretty close.  When you look at it in regular inside light, it's looks black.  However, when you put some other light directly on it, say from a syslight, you can start to see some blue.

The nylon case that each syslight comes in is blue with black trim.  The systainer is much closer to the black trim and is not really close at all to the color of blue of the bag.

Hope this helps.

Dave

The 4-pack of SysLite is guaranteed to come in a non-red-orange-yellow-green-purple-brown-grey-white Systainer. There.  [wink]

Once we run out of the special might-be-black-might-be-dark-blue Systainers, they will come in might-be-grey Systainers.  [blink]

Sorry Shane, I think all this is my fault. [embarassed]

I'll try to keep out of things like this in future, but I just can't help myself sometimes! [big grin] [tongue]

JRB, No one's fault at all. It's important that customers get accurate information and I don't mind being challenged when the information is questionable. It's all good. Like I said, I'll get a look at this firsthand in about a week and report back.

That's all I needed to know.  [big grin]  Order placed!

Shane, will we be able to purchase just the Centrotec Basic Inserts by themselves?

Extremely doubtful. As a limited time promotional item, we generally don't keep inserts for such products handy.

I did check on the Zobo insert for the MINI Systainer and the answer is the same, likely not available.

A short video showing the SYS-MFT.

Got one, theyre pretty kewl.

I using it for my Kreg Jig.

Makes a great clamping surface for pocket holeing.

Hmm, good idea with the Kreg jig. Do you have anything inside of the Systainer to organize the jig and related supplies? Like the boxes from the SYS 1 box, which can be purchased separately?

Not yet, I still concentrating on setting my shop up. Hanging up shelving brackets, Insulating the floor for the winter and dry walling the ceiling so I wont lose alot of heat in the winter.
Another FOG member has helped me tremendously since Ive been here.

Hes turning into my closest friend here.

I do have some Kaizen foam that I used in other systainers for shipping my stuff over.

That may work

Ok Ok Gimme some time to get the shop set up and figure out how im gonna organize the box and Ill post some

I am disappointed that the Zobo Centrotec combo is only offered in the metric version. Since the last Zobo set was metric, it would have been nice to have the Imperial Zobo set offered as part of the combo. Buying the Basic Centrotec and Imperial Zobo separately will cost $80 more than the combo if I did my math right.

Ok, so I've had a first hand look at the highly debated SysLite 4-Pack Systainer. Here's what I have to say about it. It looks black. No doubt about it. However, you can see in the interior where the plastic is definitely made from blue dye. But there's so much dark, dark blue that it appears black.

In very bright light, I suspect it would appear more blue. Maybe if you set up all four SysLite pointed at it.  [smile]

There ya have it.

I see that Festool has a new model track saw that's available in Germany.  It looks a lot like the Mafell 55MT. I wonder if they added some of the same features with the same beefed-up motor?  Also, I hope that they release the vacumm clamping system, although I've been told that it only really works well if the board is sanded smoothly...wouldn't know. Also, it would be nice to have their portable drill press attachment.

No new track saw unless you're just seeing a Protool saw that's been rebadged in green and labeled Festool, which might be the case. How about a link?
