Any new Festools on the Horizon?

Are any of the centrotec kits worth it for a hobbyist?

I'm a hobbyist and I have the previous version.  I use it all the time...  Hard to beat the convenience and the variety in the kit.

I see that Festool has a new model track saw that's available in Germany.  It looks a lot like the Mafell 55MT. I wonder if they added some of the same features with the same beefed-up motor?  Also, I hope that they release the vacumm clamping system, although I've been told that it only really works well if the board is sanded smoothly...wouldn't know. Also, it would be nice to have their portable drill press attachment.

Plus one for the drill press

Shane,

Here's a screen-grab from that first video for the midi systainer:

Surely that's wrong? How can the midi be compatible with classic systainers or sortainers? Where do the classic latches connect? I haven't got a midi systainer so can't be 100% certain, but I can't see how you could connect this to anything other than a T-loc.

On the USA site it says "Fully integrates with the T-Loc" and "Integrates with the classics"

I take that to mean, you can lock and go with the T-loc, and stack proper with the classics...

I have the Tanos midi. You can put a regular T loc on a classic systainer and then you can attach a T loc midi on top of the regular T loc.

JRB, thanks for the catch. You are correct that it's not compatible with Classics or sortainers. I usually watch these before posting and didn't this time. It's been corrected in the video.

Shane
