The british guy Ed was using a TS55 on a guide rail.  Another convert.  Unfortunately, he paid a dear price when he took the guard off his angle grinder to get in tight somewhere and did a huge amount of damage to his palm when the machine kicked back.  He said it best - there is a reason there is a guard on power tools.  Remove at your own risk! :o
 
I saw the TS55 too! I also noticed they were using a table saw without the guard and splitter....
 
I use a riving knife on my cheap Ryobi BT saw but I have recently taken off my Sharkguard in order to use the grrriper.  It keeps my hands away from the blade.  There has been enough flame wars over the relative value of the Sawstop over at woodnet but when I replace my current saw, it will get a hard look.
