Anyone ever had this happen?

Brand new cord in sleeve now with an added prong .  I'm not sure how this could happen since there's little to no lateral pressure on the prongs in my Ts55.  Of course this happens when I need the saw to finish installing on Wednesday.

The plug-it cord is one of the most frequent failures according to my local service center.  They say that most issues are ones of loss of contact.  As you say it's brand new, it may be a faulty cord, so just return it?  I have not had any problems with any of my plug-it cords - period.  I also take a few extra seconds to properly push/rotate in the correct sequence to minimize the load on the plug.  For the most part, I tend to either go corded where there is an option, or battery.  Just think about your work flows and evaluate your needs.  A power board mounted above a work bench works wonders too.  8)

Manufacturing defects do happen.  My guess is that the prong was suspect before putting it into the connector body and you just hit the tipping point when hooking it up.

On a related note, what have people done when the grounding pin comes off of the CT plug?  Does Festool offer a replacement cord if under warranty, or do you guys just rewire a new plug head?

At home I know what I would do.
However with the OSHA of a job site, I would probably have a sparkie do the work if legal issues are important.
