I charge more to fit an ikea kitchen, it might be cheaper but they are a pain in the arse to fit! You need to recess a void in the back of them as they dont have any room for services etc, im not keen on magnet either their integrated fridge towers can confuse, howdens are ok as you can always get what you want that day pretty much, i contract fit for this company now and their stuff is a dream to fit, quality carcasses, the push in blum euro hinges(the ones with the flap that lock the hinge to the door no screws),axiom tops, real wood veneered cornice and pelmets, im fitting a magnet kitchen at the mo and theres just so much more work in them, i guess ive been spoilt lately...
Are you talking about Howdens?
Cus howdens are a little out dated with their hinges and runners they catching up now though. I have fitted Homebase Ikeas and Howdens, Ikea has the best hinges and runners of the lot.
Like you said them push fit hinges which require no screws on the door you just flip the level and the blum hinges just clip on to the door brilliant. I have never done a Howdens Kitchen with them hinges. The runners from Ikea where lovely to fit they have all the holes in the unit predrilled dead easy to fit draws. Howdens budget the runners come pre fitted but they SUCK! The upmarket runners you need to work out your self where the runners go and measure and drill the holes your self suck man.
Not long fitted a kitchen and the holes on the doors dont even align up with the holes on the blum hinges and I think the doors are designed for the older hinges (non clip on) like I said they are catching up but slowly.
