Hi everyone - long time reader, first time poster.
I'm pretty happy with all my festool products and was surprised by the TS 55req recall. I called festool and opted for the send in and repair option, figuring that they had already figured out the problem, what would be required to repair it, and that it would be a quick turnaround.
I sent in my saw over 1 month ago and haven't heard from festool as to when I will get it back. I sent them an email and at first got a generic response saying they didn't know when it would be for sale in Canada again (I don't care when it will be for sale again - I just want my saw back). When I replied to this, they said it was up to the Consumer Product and Safety Commission and that they haven't given them a timeline yet.
I don't get it. It sounds like politics, but I'm wondering if anyone else has gotten their saw back, especially anyone in Canada. There's a whole bunch of plywood in my shop that would really benefit from the TS to break it down.
Thanks for your time everyone
