Anyone using CT SYS with Kapex?

I'm looking to get another CT (already have the CT36) dedicated to my Kapex and was wondering if anyone has used the CT Sys with the Kapex?  Curious if it has enough suction? I'm limited on the space I want to put the new CT, so the Sys would work the best, but the CT 15 is my next option  ... appreciate your experience/options.

I did and it seemed to work fine, but I recently sold it and upgraded to a CT26 because I got it in a trade.  I was also using the long life bag in the CT SYS if that's helpful.

D36 hose shortened to 4ft, reusable filter bag and bob's your uncle. It offers enough capacity for that task and doesn't take much space at all. And it's about the only sensible way to make the CTL Sys work for me. Compared to a Mini (with surprisingly similar dimensions) it just sucks at everything else you throw at it. Or rather: it doesn't... [big grin]

If you plan to use it for anything else but the Kapex or the occasional use with the track saw then get yourself a Mini/Midi/CTL 15 straight away.

The CTL Sys is a fairly flawed extractor in the ways already outlined in this forum:  lack of wheels, limited power, no bypass cooling, tiny capacity, short hose, lack of variable speed, propensity to cycle when bags are only partly filled or airflow restricted etc.

Yet many of these "flaws" make it a suitable fixed installation extractor for the SCMS.  Provided you supply it with a suitable modified 36mm hose as outlined above.  Just limit your expectations for it to be suited to most other tasks that more conventional extractors will be applied.

I've used a SYS hooked up to a CT-VA not-a-cyclone thing for a few years. Part of that time I had a CT26 with a shortened D36 hose dedicated to a KS60. They got swapped around for Reasons and I can't say I've noticed a difference in dust collection... other than now having variable suckage on my multi-purpose hose coming out of the VA with the 26 supplying it.

As things stand now, I have a SYS with a shortened D36 hose solely servicing a KS60 and it's perfectly fine; not perfect, but it's a mitre saw.

I have a Mini with a short fat hose tucked under my Kapex UG stand. Works great. My CT is mainly used to vacuum the cars.

Thanks for all the comments .. I decided I'll go with the CT15 for my dedicated Kapex vac.  I can make it work in the space I'm using and with more CFM, more volume, and lower price, it's probably a better choice for a dedicated vac.
