just a heads up for anyone in the midlands, I'm moving next week then the day after picking a lot of 25mm 6'x10' sheets of mdf used to make desks (apparently)

there's no way I need that much but it cost the same as 2-3 sheets from a regular supplier and I couldn't resist. so if anyone wants to have a go at making their own mft slab........

now if only I could find a way to decently waterproof it I could build a workroom/shed out of it  [scared]

If they're used to make desks, I'm assuming that means office furniture. That usually means they're laminated, doesn't it? Or does this company buy in plain MDF & laminate it themselves?

The timing is typical - just last week I built myself a new 'L' shaped desk out of MDF - didn't want to buy anything, so used some 18mm I had in stock & laminated 2 sheets together. The 8x4's weren't wide enough either so had to join multiple pieces. A 10x6 25mm sheet would've made the job SO much quicker & easier (and lighter, too!).

And I was in Birmingham last week (and next week too...). [sad]

unlaminated, not sure on the density yet but I'm dreading the unloading. might yet have to work out its uses and cut it off the van in bite sized chunks.

it was for a walk in wardrobe, some wall rebuilding and a fake chimney breast but I can foresee some fancy garage shelving and a nice work station/trolley set up on the way.
