Are old vac sys se1 worth it if i find one

I thought I'd add to this discussion as I haven't seen anyone post that has hands-on experience with the vacu-dogs. I ordered them as soon as the second batch became available and installed a couple of them this week. I purchased a cheap vacuum pump from Amazon and I'm frankly amazed at how useful they are.

They are ridiculously easy to install, take 30 seconds to move from one 20mm MFT hole to another, are made of quality materials and the hose connect / disconnect system is brilliant. They hold down very, very well with a 50 L/minute pump - you literally cannot break the wood free from the bench after 2 to 3 seconds of the pump turning on.

For $175 all in ($60 for vacu-dog and $115 for the Amazon pump), I'm really happy to have a great solution for my MFT without having to pay insane prices for a discontinued product.

Your mileage may vary, but this is a game changer for my MFT table.

Thanks for that...🙏...even though I already have the Festool Vac Sys, this Vacudog could still be very useful for certain applications.

Wow, the Vacudog looks incredibly useful.

I'd argue that depending on the size of your workpiece, a Vacudog could be more useful than a Vac Sys or the Doscornio I'm currently using.

Crazy that I have prototype 'VacuDogs' with the same setup from Qwas Dogs. I had sheets of sealant to cut and dogs that connected from underneath the table. I sealed a square of the table but still had too much leakage for a viable clamp. I've pulled them out for experiments here and there. I'll have to do that again with maybe a poly finish like he suggested. I used shellac

These VacuDogs are interesting and if I were to make some for my own use, being a metal guy, I'd definitely machine them from aluminum. I don't think they'll obsolete the VacSys but they are certainly a nice addition to. :)
