Assembly and Glue-up

  • Avoid using parts of the project to be assembled as blocks or jigs because it is awkward to find the piece you need clamped to the table in the middle of a glue-up.

  • Quick clamps make it slightly easier to recover from neglecting to follow the suggestion above.

  • Remove pieces that are not part of the assembly from the area or mark them accordingly before beginning assembly to avoid including them in the assembly which they are not part of.

OK, here's one - and Seth, don't go there!

Before a glue up, doublecheck that glue bottle to be sure you remembered to screw the top on.  [embarassed] [embarassed] [embarassed]
