I am finally starting to organize all my tools. Just thought I'd share the end result to inspire others -- I waited too long to build this.

Design:
  • Bottom box is 35" square and houses 3 bays of systainers with 14" shelf sliders on bottom, and two drawers on top holding all my bits and router bits. The 4th bay houses a small Makita air compressor.
  • Torsion box top - 44" wide x 62" long x 3.5" thick made from MDF and 1/8" hardboard on top. Skirt is western maple.
  • Notch created on the front lip to accomodate SawStop's rails. Also, the SawStop overhead dust collection arm had to be secured with zip ties under the rail (instead of on top of it) in order to allow for the outfeed table to butt up against the table saw. It's the one flaw in SawStop's design, and it could have been easily avoided.
  • The sysport is painted a matte clear polyurethane and looks great!

I love the Rockler self leveling feet on the bottom to adjust the outfeed table to the perfect height. I also routed a shallow groove to house a FastCap imperial/metric ruler in the top as well. Overall it's been a fantastic addition to my shop, and I am surprised at how heavy this table is. No chance of bumping it and it moving.
