Attach Ridgid Belt Sander to Festool Vacuum Hose

Good morning,
I just bought a Ridgid belt sander that I would like to attach to a Festool vacuum. The Ridgid description says "onboard vacuum adaptor fits a standard 1-1/4 in. hose". Does anyone know an easy fitting that I can purchase or put together that will attach my Festool "tool end" fitting to the Ridgid sander?
Thank you!
Just Bill

I have used the Fein Step Adapter in the past to make the connection between the standard hose fittings and the Festool vac, though I don't know if it will work in this specific application.  The Rockler Dust Rite adapter might also work:

I have the Ridgid R2740 belt sander.  I've never actually tried sanding like this, but I was able to twist the end of my Festool 27mm hose into the inside of the dust bag that came with the sander.  It's not the prettiest thing, but it didn't require any adapter.

Because I twisted the hose in, the connection feels pretty tight.

I think the connection would be really solid if you wrapped some tape around the internal plastic frame of the sanding bag and the end of the Festool hose.

I also own the Rockler Dust Right® Universal Small Port Hose Kit, but that couldn't connect the two.

I don't even remember the exact use case for why I bought the "Universal" kit in the first place 4 years, but I don't think I've ever actually been able to successfully use it.

I was just thinking/recalling that it must be designed for use with shop vac sized hoses, but I just tried to use the adapter with my shop vac hose and I couldn't make that work either!

You will probably need to make your own adapter. Especially if you want something that isn't cumbersome. I have used regular PVC plumbing fittings.  Fittings / connectors for 1" scd. 40 PVC pipe are a perfect fit for the Festool D27 hose tool end. Then do whatever is needed on the other side to attach to the tool.

For the Kreg jig I reamed out the inside using a small sanding drum on a drill. In the picture it is two 90 degree elbows glued together just to lower the hose. It could have been done with a straight coupler.

This guy makes them with PVC and his lathe.

I have that same kit.  It is handy - the 1-7/8 in. to 1-1/4 in. adapter works great for connecting the shop vac hose to both the Kreg K4 and also to the Ridgid belt sander, unfortunately it didn't work connecting the Festool Hose.

Thanks again to everyone who offered up the ideas. GoingMyWay had the great idea of using the fitting from the bag that is supplied with the sander. (I really should have thought of this!) I was able to easily remove the bag which was held on by only a zip tie. I super-glued the fitting to the sander. The 36mm hose tool end fits perfectly over the outside of the tapered fitting. Couldn't fit better really. I'm really shocked at how much dust is picked up with the sander and Festool vac. Virtually dust free.
