Attic Lids

So I called Festool on Wednesday afternoon this week to order a couple of attic lids and to my surprise they arrived this morning, really fast shipping!

When I opened the box though I got an even bigger surprise. Based on everything I've read here, and what is listed in EKAT, I should have needed to order the part numbers below to get a complete attic lid.

702083 Transparent Flap
702082 Cover (Lid)
702081 Closure (Latch)

Well, when I opened the box I found 2 of the transparent flaps in individual plastic bags, 2 of the latches in a bag, and then 2 COMPLETE attic lids marked with part number 702082.

So, it appears that the 702082 part number now includes the transparent flap, latch and even the dividers even though it is not listed that way in EKAT. Just wanted to post this to let people know for future purchases so you don't buy extra parts you don't need.

I ordered 702082 earlier this year and just got the clear cover.

Others have reported getting the latch too, so maybe I'm just on the naughty list.    [crying]

What is currently the best way to get a Festool sys-2 with attic lid?  Lee Valley has the Tanos version, but not Festool version.

I don't think Festool sells a Sys 2 with an attic lid attached. They do however, still sell the attic lid separately, but the price has gone up significantly over the last 2 years.

I'd call Festool service and see if they have any alternative ideas, because I believe the OS 400 Set comes in a Sys 2 Attic.

I think they already are doing something?  Because I cannot get a special blue Systainer shipped to me from an Amazon seller.

That would involve actively breaking (or trying to circumvent, which boils down to the same penalties) EU anti cartel laws, possibly not the best of ideas (should you want to keep your company solvent and yourself out of jail).

Unfortunately RustE, that Special Edition Systainer doesn't ship to the US. [sad] [sad]

It seems like product that ships to the US must be dispatched from and sold by Amazon.

As already noted, the item has to be sold by and shipped by Amazon.  Most of the items listed by another company or listed as fulfilled by Amazon do not have international shipping.

To change the language, look just below the search bar and to the right.  You should see the letters "DE" with a globe below them.  Click or hover on the globe to change the language.  Note that this is not perfect and you might still have to use Google translator or similar for the product description.

Also I have occasionally noticed if Amazon DE is selling the item but they have a special on it they will not ship to the U.S. while the special is in effect.  In this case, if you wait until after the special is over the item will again be qualified to ship to the U.S.at it's normal Amazon DE price.
