Dear Friends,

I am planning to buy a 'used' Festool (Sliding Compound Miter Saw KAPEX KS 120 REB). I have checked the product which is in working condition however, I am a bit skeptical about the product label which is a 2 sided sticker.
The label contains a Chinese script which when translated says ' Made in Germany' however, this is not in English.
I have attached few pictures from the product and its label.
You support in helping me confirm the product is original will be very much appreciated.

Best regards
Wasim

I doubt that any of us can help you definitively determine that the machine you are considering is a genuine product.  I would suggest that you contact the Festool office in your geographical are and supply them with the image that has the S-Nr on it along with your question about authenticity.  My motto has always been that if there is doubt - don't.

There is a Festool China.  Probably should ask if there was a local distributor to where you are in 2020?  Someone could have just gotten antsy and have one shipped from nearby.  A lot of English speakers here in NA did so (and still do) from Europe.

Yes. I also realized that there is Festool China. But what does it mean? is its assembled in China or what?

That would be my first thought too. It was made for sale in China, not a product of China.

My TS60 has a FestoolUK label, it is very much inside the United States. I'm definitely not the only one with tools that were made for either the UK or Europe in general.
I would imagine, but don't know for sure, that the European stuff is just marked Germany. The UK has different style plugs, even at the same voltage as the rest of the world.

The Kapex saws are assembled in Germany.  Labels on tools are installed on tools per the market they are intended for.
