Automotive 150mm sanding pad

Hi all. A couple of years ago, I purchased two pre-owned ETS sanders through the classifieds here. There were some spare bits that came with the sanders that I’d not paid much attention to until recently. One of those spare bits is what appears to be a sanding pad for automotive use (pic attached (apologies that it’s upside down)). Does anybody know anything about these and under what circumstances, if any, are they used in a wood shop? Googling the part number (202269) doesn’t surface much info.

It appears to be a standard soft pad engraved with automotive.

Here's the same pad from circa 2016 and earlier...498987.
