auxillary fence on my kapex

I want to add an auxillary fence to my kapex. I am looking at the supplimentary manual (page 23) This will work great for 90 deg. cuts. What about the cuts at 45 deg? or 35 deg? etc. I would cut the end off of the aux. fence, more and more and by the end of the day It'd be a stub.

There must be another way to make an Aux. fence that will not get used up so quickly. What do you folks do?

I am also going to attempt some minor surgery on the kapex, the motor/head doesn't return to  full upright position after a cut. I'm going to take the blade off, and blast the whole area with compressed air.

Hope this helps you out.

I used 18mm ply for this fence.  This gives me a zero clearance cut for no blow out on the back of the workpiece.

This shows how I cut the aux. fence to allow for 45 degree cuts.

I slide one side over so that I don't cut my aux. fence when cutting a miter.  The other side I slide over so that the aux. fence just touches my blade.

If you need more pics let me know. I would be happy to help out.
Keep in mind that with 18 mm plywood I can not use the hold down clamp to hold the piece being cut.  You can use thinner material if you wish.
The aux. fence simply attached with screws from the back.

The problem with the head not poping back up is the spring binding on itself, a tiny squirt of lube on the spring will cure it.

Thanks for the pics, I'll give that a try on the aux. fence. I'll have to change the way that I cut material though!  On the head not returning, I squirted some WD40 on the spring (after a good blast of compressed air) and it seemed to cure the problem. Good advise! thanks!
