Does anyone have any experience using Benchdogs’ Mitre fence with a Kapex?

The markings on the fence start at 280mm, which is just past the Kapex fence, but it seems to me that you’d have to take off the tall portion of the Kapex fence to really use the Benchdogs product.

You could set up the Benchdogs fence just off the end of the Kapex, but if you want to cut at really any kind of angle, you need to slide the tall fence over, and I think the Benchdogs fence would be in the way.

Benchdogs is having a sale, and I’m considering adding this, but I’d like to know if people find it annoying to use with the Kapex.

I really like their fence profile, in general, and their new (ish) micro adjust flip stops look terrific. Trying to decide if I take advantage of the sale and pull the trigger.

Thanks.

I have the Benchdogs fences on my MFTs. I'm not familiar with a fence for a Kapex and just searched their site? Do you have a picture? Also is this Benchdogs UK?

I’m pretty sure it’s the same extrusion profile as all their other fences and that the only difference is that the scale starts at 280mm.

I think the height of the fence would be enough that it would get in the way of the slideable/removable portion of the Kapex fence, but I don’t know for sure.

Not a dealbreaker, necessarily (the vast majority of the time, I’d be fine with the tall portion of the Kapex fence not being there at all). But it’s something I’d like to know before buying.

I searched Kapex and that is why I didn't find it. I was thinking it somehow attached to the saw. Are you using the Kapex Mft flanked by Standard height MFTs on each side?

The Kapex’s table is level with the cabinet top on either side. This fence sits on the counter top in line with the kapex’s fence. Pretty standard setup, but if the fence is taller than the integrated Kapex fence, I would think it would interfere with the movement of the top part of the Kapex fence.

Removing the Benchdogs fence to add or remove the tall part of the Kapex fence isn’t the end of the world, but I was just wanting to confirm if that was how it would work. I’ve never put any extended fence on my Kapex.

This is probably the best demonstration photo I could find of such a setup with the fence in place:

Got it, I use a wooden sacrificial fence on the back of my Kapex, devoted with double sided tape, and don't move the upper wings. I have Benchdog fences on my MFTs for cross cuts. Don't buy the Systainer version, it is difficult to align. Additionally, I found the standard dogs supplied with their fences were not snug in my MFTs and I got a lot of deflection. I would get the Benchdogs they sell that you can tighten for a secure fence. Otherwise, I have been happy.
