I'm ready to take the plunge (Sorry, couldn't resist!) and purchase my Domino.

Now obviously, the DF 500 set is the best deal for your $$, so that's what I want to get.

We happen to have a Festool dealer here, even though it's a bit of a podunk town, but when I asked
them if they had the DF 500 set in stock, I was told "that was an introductory deal only".

Is this true, were there only a limited number of the sets given to all dealers?

If so, I guess I'll go ahead and get it from Woodcraft or whatever. Would really like to help out the local
guys though.

Thanks.

The set is, and always has been, part of our offerings for the Domino.

Hope that answers your question.

That's actually the old part number for the model with the pins (and it's the non-set version) which has long since been discontinued. The new number is 574308.

Error in 2009 catalog? When new catalog expected release date?

Thanks

Victor, it's not an error. That catalog was published before the change to the Domino. At the time of print, that was the right product number. There will be a new catalog this year.

Well, as a follow up, I went in today and asked for the set and they told me they would have one in stock on Wednesday, which is better than the previous answer! Ironically, I know for a fact it came from the same person (the owners son).

Oh well, now to figure out how to sleep for the next 3 days....

Count mortises (or tenons) instead of sheep. Seriously, the Domino is my favorite tool. You're going to dig it.
