Bathroom Vanity Finishing

I just started building a corner vanity for our downstairs bathroom. We were going to use oak even for the counter top but use a much darker contrasting stain on the top than the cabinets. I cut up the oak ply this weekend and getting ready to assemble the cabinets.

OK - small curve ball. My wife now wants to antique the cabinets. When she says antique she means distress where you pain and rub the finish to the bare wood. We did this years ago to an old cabinet and it actually looked good but I really don't want to do that for this project.

She is open to other techniques. I've seen milk paint, glazing, etc..

Looking for ideas.

(I have a Fuji Q4 that I use with waterborne finishes)

Go with the milk paint. I'd clear coat it in a bathroom.
