I was wanting to know are the batteries any different in the US than another country such as UK . I also wanted to know if I bought a OSC 18 from the UK would work in the US and if I bought the set would the charger be different also . The OSC is not available in the US .

My thought would be that batteries are batteries and as long as they are properly charged they're good to go.

So step 1 behind us...

Step 2 would be to purchase the OSC and report back on how awesome it is and thus have the rest of the US bound adopters slathering on their bibs.  [big grin]

The batteries will be the same, and also the tools, the charger voltage will be different but you guys have 115 volt chargers over there anyway so, no problem that I can see.

I know it's not the same, but it's pretty close.  You can get a Fein supercut 18V right now.  Zoro is always doing 20-25% off promos (get on their email list).  And Fein is offering a 15 blade assortment through the end of Aug with the purchase of a supercut.  By all accounts, the Festool OSC accessories will fit the Fein supercut, but the battery platform will be different.  If you need it now, it's an option.  If you can wait, Sept/Oct has always been a good time for Festool to make new introductions to NA.

you're right i can get the fein

disadvantages:
-another battery system
-no bluetooth start if you want to use the vacuum
-no systainer, so another box that doesn't fit the stacking system

advantages:
-i can get it now
-kit comes with more blades

I bought the Supercut, simply because I got a deal that made sense financially, and also as I have Fein batteries from previous Supercuts. Mine is the Anniversary edition, that comes in two systainers. Yes the Vecturo plunge base and accessories fit the Supercut, and work very well.
We need another and I’m still undecided to get another Supercut, or the Vecturo. The fact that I have a few Fein batteries would suggest another Supercut makes sense.
Basically the same machine anyway.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the Fein battery platform, the 5.0ah batteries give incredible run time, and if you bought one with two 5.0ah batteries that’s probably all you’d need.
I dare say the Vecturo is the same.

Thanks for all the feedback > I really have been waiting for the US to get the cordless and am not sure when they will introduce it or even if at all . I have a corded Fein but want to go cordless and better dust extraction
