BATTERIES

"Bluetooth feature" can mean several things..

Assuming what was meant is the vacuum remote control - then that works absolutely fine even with the oldest firmware. No change there.

Updating firmware helps mostly when you want to use the BT (on the batteries) to configure newer tools. I believe the light on the new TPC can be configured that way and similar such small things on newer tools.

Also, when Festool finds any way to improve the battery operation (safety, charging cycles etc.) they can push this through the firmware updates. But mostly it is about security (aka patching Bluetooth bugs) and support for newer tools configurations. None of that has any relation to the BT remote control of the vacs so those without a penchant for "smart things" can sleep well.

For me the most useful on the app is one can see the cycles on the batteries - this is useful when you want to sell-on the pack as the new buyer can easily see its use rate.

Cycle count alone just says about nothing.

I'd like to sell my 50-cycle Bosch 18V battery. It performs "fine" and charges.... but once you get it 'empty' it won't charge... because one cell is leaking... four cells at 3,5V and the fifth at 2.6V...

I had the exact same problem. Update battery to 78 % reported an error and the battery was bricked contacted festool Denmark and they refused to attend to the problem because I had lost the receipt. The app destroyed a perfectly good battery and they don't care. What a joke. Don't update
