If you are talking about this one JDS Blast Gate> I actually have it and hate it.

• ]Its a pain to install (wire running all over the place)
• The blast gate only comes in 4" so I can't use it on my main duct unless I use a separate switch
• One of the blast gate just ended up failing
• You still need to remember to open the gate  :

I considered the ecogate system for a while which has the advantages of opening the gates for you but given the $279 price tag of a 6" blastgate I figured its probably cheaper to put some money on a saving account now in order to pruchase a cybernetic pair of lungs when needed

I must have been pretty sleepy last night when I saw it, because I never noticed the wires part. Just figured it was wirelesly controlled like mine.

Guess mine's not all that bad afterall, as long as I remember to turn it on and move the hose to whatever I'm using.... I was hoping your blastgate system would combine these two steps into only one thing to remember.... If/when I ever come across that hard-wired unit that senses any tool triggered in the circuit, I'll pass it along. Or maybe just buy a half dozen of the iSockets and plain blast gates:

I guess I can remove this item from my wish list.

I have just been told this morning that I would not be allowed to cut my sheets anymore due to the liability insurance of the lumber yard the do not cover customer playing with power tools (I am still allowed to bring a hand saw  ).

I guess I will need to buy a new truck...
