Shaper Tools has announced that it will be increasing the price of the Origin on August 4th by $100. If this cool tool is on your short list, you may want to consider ordering before then.

This PSA has been brought to you by your friends over at The Tool Nut.

Order the Shaper Origin now and save $100 before the price increase.  [wink]

Thanks,
Shane

Hey, Shane, any word on when the 2021 Festool price increase is happening?  The FestoolUSA website has already seen some pretty heavy increases, but I haven't seen any warnings similar to the Shaper Origin notice, other than someone mentioning that they saw signage being unboxed in a random local store with "save $75" on it.

Festool has indicated that prices will be increasing on January 1st, 2022 for most, if not all, items. With the current situation with backorders, we would recommend ordering early to lock in current pricing. There's no guarantee that dealers will not choose to implement pricing before 1/1 due to the backorders, some have already done so.

A complete 2022 price list has not been provided at this time. We will definitely communicate as soon as possible with details on exact price changes, but I don't expect to have any info until closer to the end of the year. We do know that the following tools will see an increase, which has already been confirmed by FUSA.

Domino DF 500
Domino DF 700
Kapex
OF 1010
OF 1400
OF 220
ETS EC 150 (both models)

Shane, any word on the OF1010? Will we get the new model soon?

[member=58857]Crazyraceguy[/member] generally it’s about 6-12 months after the European introduction before we see new tools here in the US. No official word from FUSA. However the current model is included in the price increase for 2022.

I have the current model, but would consider selling it on to get the newer version, or just be my usual overboard and keep both.

The thread got a little off-topic here so just wanted to give it a BUMP.

Reminder, the Shaper Origin price increases by $100 on Wednesday, 8/4.

Order today or tomorrow to get your best price.

This might be a little off topic, but it works as a bump anyway.
Is the Shaper treated as a "Festool" item? It doesn't have the actual brand name of Festool, even though it is under the same umbrella. So the real question is does it have the same warranty? 30 day return and 3 year all inclusive?

30 day "try it" period, 1 year Warranty.

2 year warranty if you buy Pro Support.

At least, from what I found on their website:

Shane, you should have mentioned the discount for buying the workstation at the same time.
I pulled the trigger on one this evening. I hope it can get to me by Friday.

"The Shaper origin is On Sale!"

"Really, how much did they reduce the price?"

"Not at all."

"Then why did you say it's on sale?"

"They're going to raise the price soon..."

"But that's not a sale, they're still selling it for full price."

"Right, but it will cost more in a few weeks so it will be kinda like a sale after the price goes up."

"Did you used to work for the Internal Revenue Service in Public Relations?"

Funny, [member=60975]kevinculle[/member].  [big grin]

I never said it was a sale. I said you can save yourself $100 if you order before tomorrow [wink] Hopefully, some appreciate knowing if they're on the fence, so they don't pay more later. Hope it helped someone.
