First off I am starting this post because I like Festool and want them to succeed.
I want a new scms. I would like the kapex but the bed is not flat.
I use one in a shop all the time. I am familiar with it and get.
But when I take a 12" straight edge across the base with 1" on the left wing and press down the right side of the straight edge pitches up 3/32". Doing it the other way cause a pitch of just under 1/16". The bed should be flat end of story. Let's all push Festool to fix this issue. Come on it's not about being a hater but just the opposite. Stop apologizing for this issue. Festool fix it get it done move on!
 
The best way to push them is for people that read these posts to buy a different saw.
 
Reading your post I have to ask why you - or the owner of the saw in case the shop isn't yours - hasn't just contacted Festool about your issue?  And before anyone jumps on me for this response please scroll to the top of this thread and look at the box that asks for posters to contact Festool first about their issues.

I have done this test on multiple kapex"s  ie the saws that are on displays at retail outlets 
 
Maybe head on down to Lowes, Home Depot, or any other place and check out the other brands and post results.

Just for comparison's sake, of course.

But do agree, Kapex should be flat within some sort of tolerance....  mine is +-.005 using a milled to .003 straight edge and feelers.
Very tight compared to my two DeWalts.
 
I think people expect too much of the Kapex, it is a lightweight portable power tool not a heavy duty cast iron topped piece of workshop machinery.
 
Seems to be a nice saw. However, some of us have received Kapex saws that weren't up to what we expect from Festool. Wish I had been one of the happy customers instead of receiving a saw with deformed fence parts. My dealer is trying to be helpful, but the lack of communication continues to make this purchase a horrible experience. Worse yet, I'll be out around $1,000 for the Cart, Wings and Hose that will not be of use to me now. Very, very sorry I chose to take a chance on this Kapex. I do believe that Festool may need to look into the quality control on their Kapex line. This is a lose, lose, lose situation, as while I'm out a good deal of money, Festool and my dealer will also not be seeing the same amount of purchased from me in the near term, or at all.
 
Hmm, Ive had mines for about 4 years and includes it being shipped to the UK in a container and set up and used here for over 2 years....

Never had a problem. At first I thought I had one not getting square cuts but I found it was poor stock prepping not the Kapex.

Only complaint I have, Is I wish I had more room in the shop. Nothing to do with the Kapex
 
No problems with my KAPEX .. does that mean I'm doing something wrong [huh]
