Bench for the Kapex - ideas welcome.

Greetings from Australia,
I think it's time to build a bench for my Kapex  rather than leaving it on the shelf and then having to set it up each time on the main bench.
So I thought I would pick the brains of those who have already done it. Any photos, ideas or measurements would be much  appreciated.
I envisage a bench where the Kapex would be set in a recess so that long lengths can lie on the bench top and straight onto the saw.

hi beer is good, and welcome to the forum.
i bought my kapex in october 2008.
i worked out my heights for all my benches from my thicknesser bench height.
all my benches are on castor wheels and can be used with the thicknesser as infeed/outfeed tables.
total height including castors is 28 and three quarter inches or 730mm. it is small but it is comfortable for me.

at first the kapex was difficult to adjust to, but now i am used to it.
i still use a systainer 1 box to keep the workpiece in position when cutting.
once i have moved into a bigger house with a double garage, hopefully after christmas, i will look at making a more permanent fixture.

i am also considering the Kapex KS88 for site work. i use a tommy tucker bench for site work. and they work great. you can take a look at tommy tucker
may i make one recommendation beer is good. as you are a new member. it helps a lot if you can add your state and country in your profile page as a lot of members here are from the U.S. and Europe. then they can see very quickly where in the world you are from.

btw, how is your dust deputy going?
i still haven't ordered mine yet.

Thanks for reminding me about the location - I have now updated it. The Dust Deputy is working well, although I haven't done a great deal of work with it. I need to fiddle around with my sawbench and get an adaptor to connect the vac hose to the dust box. Then that will be a real test of the DD. I bought an Ozito shop vac for $99 from Bunnings because the hoses are bigger than those on regular house vacs, and with a couple of adaptors and PVC pipe I managed to get a pretty good connection to the Kapex. But the Deputy certainly creates a cyclone!

I built a bench for my Kapex on top of my shop cabinets, which are based on a plan I got from Norm Abrams.  I added Kreg precision trak and stop kit to the setup.  Works very well. I have been able to make repeatable cuts that are accurate and square.  I have bolted the Kapex to the bench with carriage bolts and wingnuts so that I can pull it out and move it around.
