Man, I think I have a problem.  The problem is I just can't get enough of these early 1880's machines.

This is a Bental jointer, original fence, original paint, and yes that is a horse shoe cast into the base.  It has good luck cast into the horse shoe.

This will look great next to my Bental planer.

Be careful.  The horseshoe is pointing down, allowing the good luck to run out, according to horse people.  [wink]

Looks like it will do the job once you've got it back in working order.

Congrats,
Steve

yeah but if they cast the base in a u shape like the horse shoe would be if flipped, it would be a see-saw not a jointer......  probably better luck for the operator to have a nice stable base  [big grin]

Sweet tool Warner!  do you doll these old dogs up or just get them working right and use them as is?

John

This one needs a couple little things repaired, a good washing, a motor and then start running.  It has it's original paint so I will not touch that, other then a good cleaning with soap and water.
