Bessey angle jaws

Do you have normal bar clamps? The pad sits on a little ball to allow for misalignment.

I use elastic tubing. It's the same stuff used on powerful sling shots. I got a big roll of it at Home Depot. It is amazing how much pressure the tubing can generate and it's easy to wrap it around odd shapes.

Thanks for the link.  They should work, as I'm staging it (only two sides of the stool are splayed), clamping the splayed legs and stretchers first, and then putting both sets together with straight clamps.

I have the Bessey angle jaws.  Not so sure they will work well for what you are doing. But here is a link to a review that may help you decide. They are really great for some things and well worth having a couple pairs.

I have just picked up a set of the angle clamp adapters & they work well for angled work in one plane. You may want to try a strap clamp, but I use just a rope on the last few bar stools that I did for a client. It works well to tighten up the strecher, use the turnbuckles to hold it in place. Just a thought.

Seth,

I picked up the angle jaws during a walk-thru at Woodcraft in November, browsing for what I might want to buy. (Drives my wife crazy when I do not really have a "need" in mind when I shop ...)

I followed your link and saw the hold-downs that go thru the saddle supports.  I've got to get those -- I was not aware of them.

Thanks for posting the link.
