Hello Gentlemen.

I just returned from a local woodworking store and while I was walking around I found the Bessey Auto Adjustable toggle clamps.

I came home, made this up and I wanted to share with you crazy kids.  Check out the pics, NO thumbnails!  Just for you JMB    [tongue]

They only coast $21.  They only had two or else I would have bought 6 so I could keep two on each of my MFT's.

Had the Rockler 5/16" star knobs and 5/16" t-bolts laying around the shop.  I used  12mm thick timber for the base and 1/4-20 bolts with flat washers, lock

washer and nut.

I like the Veritas MFT kit everyone is going goo-goo-gaa-gaa over, but I don't need or want everything in that set.

Hope someone can find this useful!

Eric

Lee Valley has a new kit out for the MFT's that uses these clamps. Great minds think alike [wink]

Great idea, but i wasn't expecting to read "made in PRC" on the bag, not Bessey also!  [sad]

Yeah,  not much I can say about that.  I think Bessey is the only company making a clamp like this, so you're kind of stuck buying them if you want them.

At lease I bought them at a small mom and pop woodworking store to help out the small guy.

I like those adaptors Eric!  Thanks for posting. [big grin]

Have a couple of the Besseys. They are very handy.

I saw this Kreg video lastnight but I don't think the clamps are available yet.

Looks like July for the Kreg auto clamps?

well, since Lee Valley split up their mft clamping kit i bought the real deal mounts. 21.50/ea i thought that was very reasonable and i got them during free shipping so even better

they fit and finish of these mounts is incredible!!  I opted to use my element clamp knobs

for anyone on the fence about this setup.. buy it or make it like eric did,  I would use these before my festool clamps in any situation i could

This is funny,  I clicked on this thread to read it......and totally forgot I started it!    Man, I had a huge brain fart!    [eek]

I  have been using my Bessey toggle clamps on my MFT tables for a while now....love them.

But my last trip to my local woodworking store had the new Kreg clamps on display.  After playing around with them I'm going to buy a couple and test them

out.  In fact, I'm going up this morning to see if they have them in stock yet, they were waiting for the shipment to come in.

I have a MFT1080  so I'm thinking that I can work the Kreg clamp some how with the t-track slots some how.

I do find myself grabbing my Bessey toggle clamps more then the Festool clamps.  I think I only use my Festool clamps for clamping a rail down and the

only rail I clamp is the LR32 rail.

If no one beats me too it, I'll try to post some pics of the new Kreg clamps working with the MFT tables.

Well, I bought 2 of the new Kreg Automaxx  bench clamps today.  3" reach.  I just used 5/16" threaded rod and a 5/16" star knob to attach them to the MFT

tables.    Just like I did with the Bessey auto toggle clamps.

They come with a small 5/16" screw that you could use to attach the Kreg clamp to the aluminum profiles on the old 1080 MFT and the MFT/3

profiles.  Here are a couple pics for you guys.  I really really like the new Kreg Automaxx clamps.  Just like the Kreg video, I was able to switched from a 2x4 to

3/4" plywood with out having to adjust anything.  I think this will be my new go-to clamping solution for a while.....until the next new thing come out  [tongue]

I did shoot some video footage while I was playing around......so I'm gonna do some editing to the footage and post a video on my youtube channel later

today.
