I did a bit of a search and found a festool dealer around 30 miles from where i live.
i decided to go pay them a visit today and expected to come home with my wallet lighter but my car boot heavier than when i left. my main objective was to go get a systainer or two of dominoes to make a start on some planned projects that have been awaiting the arrival of the 700.

when i got there i found this awesome looking tool shop fitted out with some quite spectacular dewalt tools and a wood store with some beautifully turned wooden goblets and lots of interesting chunks of wood,

no green anywhere...

i searched around thinking i had come to the wrong place until i spotted a festool midi being used as a hoover. i figured i had to be in the right place as pretty much everywhere else i had enquired about festool tools and dominoes had absolutely no idea what on earth i was talking about.
so i expected to be ushered into some kind of "special gentleman's room" where one could gloat over a full range of festool tools and ancillaries.

this was not to be, i asked about their stock and the guy relayed a very sad tale of how things had changed since 1995 when they first worked with festool, to the current situation they are in where they will no longer be dealing with festool due to irreconcilable differences.
the only festool stock they had left was a box of 12mm dominoes being used as a door stop.

this means my nearest dealer is in excess of 100 miles away.

i bought the lonely box of dominoes (exactly what i was after) and saw them replaced with a bit of wood to keep the door open.

there is no way i am doing a 200+ mile round journey to check out the festool range and to buy some systainers of dominoes, that seems a bit beyond anything that makes sense.
so, i was wondering if anyone knows who is the best "go to" for online festool shopping in the uk?
seems i will be buying blind rather than being able to check out the equipment first hand. that being the case, who offers the best deals?
i don't mind paying a bit extra to local traders, but online is faceless and impersonal so the cheapest becomes more attractive.

in the middle of the welsh desert.
there's not much sand but it can be as bleak and uninhabited (and also stunningly beautiful at the same time).
kind of south west, ceredigion is the county.

mmm thats a bit in the middle of nowhere lol

Power Tool Supplies in Weston Super Mare are close if you ever venture abroad into England lol ;-)

They do online stuff too.

thank you for that.
the guy in the shop i went to today mentioned a supplier in weston as a passing comment (he used his  prices to give me a price on the box of dominoes when i frowned at the initial offer price), however didn't mention whom it might be.
i shall check him out.
thanks dale.

D and M tools in south London are doing a great deal on the 500, I went in and picked one up last week as I'm local but they do online sales as well. not sure if I can put a link up or not.

i shall do a search for them, thank you so much for responding.

I'd give the guys in Weston a bell. They know what they are about with regards to Festool and their prices and service are good. I bought my Domino 700 kit from them earlier this year, as well as my Kapex. That's despite being up in Lancashire and within 40 miles of no less than 5 current/former stockists.
