I'm looking for clean and quiet cuts and I know Tenyru can do it.  For the Kapex, I'm looking at the MP-26080AB Miter Pro Plus 260mm X 80T. What blades are best for the 55 REQ and the TS75?

I have a question about the Tenyru rip blade.

Need to rip some 8/4 hard maple for a moxon vise I am putting together.  I have the TS 75.  The Festool Panther blade is what I would buy for this, but the kerf is different than my Festool fine blade and all purpose blade.  The Tenryu rip blade has the same kerf as my other Festool bades, so thought I would buy the Tenyru instead.

Does anyone know if the Tenyru rip blade will deflect too much in the 8/4 hard maple?

Will the Tenyru blades for the TS 75 cut along the splinter guard on the guide rail without recutting it?

I think so.  The kerf on the rip blade is the same as the fine and all purpose Festool blades for the TS75.  Does anyone know for sure?  I believe the other Tenyru blades also use the standard kerf sizes.

Hi mate check my thing in Festool reviews under Sicd_steve, I have bought a bunch of Tenyru blades for my Festool saws, let me tell you when you do your first cut with Kapex Mitre Pro the quietness of the blade and the polished edge cut will amaze you. I hhaa well sounds stupid but the first day I got my mitre pro blade I couldn't, help walking past the saw every now and then Cut a few cuts and think wow I just love how quiet it is......you can't hear it cut over the noise of the actual saw motor and I did some cuts on the kapex lowest speed setting and thought my Stanley knife is louder,,,,you will be stoked when you get yours trust me you will love as I do. Now for the TS75 the kerf on the Tenyru combo blade which I use to cut timber not sheet is 3mm and the standard Festool blades are 2.6mm so it wil shave .2 of a mm and that's really minor and thinners than a bee's " d..k".

You will also love how quiet and gentle the cuts are these blades are very very sharp I had the festool rep in My shop last week showing me the vac sys and I showed him the Tenyru blades ( we don't have them here in AUSTRALIA ) and he commented on how sharp they felt and was very impressed by the performance  in the saws as he has never seen them before.

I love my blades hope you do too

The kerf on Tenryu rip blade (PSW-21018CBD3) is indeed the same as Festool combo - 2.4 mm. However, the plate is thinner - 1.6 mm vs Festool's 1.9 mm. This means it will cut 0.15 mm into the splinter guard.

Thanks this is a timely post , I want to replace the original blade in my TS55 .  The Tenyru sounds like a good replacement .

I have the TS75 and used the stock blade that came with the saw to cut 8/4 hard maple when making my moxon vise and had great results.

Excellent!  Thank you for posting that.  I'll try the standard TS75 Festool blade.  As Svar posted, I was afraid that the plate was thinner on the Tenyru.
