I’m about to pull the trigger on the TSO GRS-16 and GRS-16 PE for $319.95  and sustainer with foam insert for $79.99. All in about $400.

My other option is Woodpeckers Adjustable Track Square with case for $349. I love the adjustments on the woodpecker option but I’d be giving up the parallel guide. It also looks like the GRS system has some great expandability.

Any thoughts on which one to go with or is there a better option out there?

I am always fearful of "adjustable". The primary purpose is to cut square. The TSO  does that really well.  There are other that are copies, but I like to support the the original ideas especially if there are no improvements.  Their customer service is top notch.

I have the TSO GRS-16 and think it is great.    As [member=163]vkumar[/member] said, TSO came up with these, with the addition of their parallel guides, it's even better.

BTW, I store it in the systainer with my tracksaw, a separate systainer is nice, but not necessary.

Another vote for TSO.  I have the GRS16 and it's fantastic. I bought the long fence attachment (I don't recall the official name) that extends the base.

TSO no question, I have both squares. They are pricey on this side of the water but, worth it, in my opinion.

[member=73136]BPR[/member] - welcome to the FOG - a great resource like no other manufacturer supported Forum.
When we set out to design a solution for the lack of a really reliable track square we considered an adjustable design. But when we listed and prioritized the design objectives, the compromises posed by an adjustable square nixed the idea pretty quickly.

90 degree square cuts totally outnumber the occasional angle cut making any compromise a hard price to pay.
Adjustability automatically introduces unavoidable tolerance stack-ups of components as sources of  reduced stability and accuracy.

"Appropriation" our patented design for the connection and alignment to the guide rail does not overcome the limitations we see in the adjustable square we purchased.

If there is the slightest doubt in your mind, purchase one of each design and return the one less suited to your needs. It would open your eyes like it did ours. In our case, we'll not only refund your purchcase price but also pay for return shipping.

Thank you everyone! The argument against adjustability is fair and made my choice easy, Combo Kit it is! And at this point I’m already enough money in I may as buy the sustainer
