I do the center support, when cutting grooves with a router, but not the track saw. Routers are constantly pulling offline, track saws don't. The saw kind of wants to go straight, not saying you couldn't get it crooked, when cutting off of the track, but it is nowhere near the pulling power of a router.When possible, I like to clamp 2 or 3 sheet goods together and dimension them with one cut using my Festool TS 75. If the capacity of your TS 60 allows, rip both sheets at once and cut slowly.
The FS 3000 is a wise investment. On 8 foot rips I use a center block to reduce lateral movement.

I generally don't clamp the rail, for TS cuts either. There are times when it is necessary, like mitered edges, but most of the time, no.
