It is super easy to dislodge a tool's plug-it cord from the CT socket.  Any chance of engineering it a little tighter?  Oh, and a second outlet.

How old is your CT? The newer units have a double wipe rececptical much better than the older single wipe.

06 would have been a single wipe, they are terrible. I believe all the replacements are double wipe.

Could this cause some erratic behavior of whatever tool is plugged into the vac too? Sometimes my tools will slow and speed up for no reason.

This happens to me intermittently, too. Not sure what's going on.

Ditto for me, but in my case it was on my newer Midi (t-loc version) and the vac just stopped working for about 10 minutes. Weird. Works fine now.

My 8 yeard old ct22 has an outlet that is so sloppy, but it holds the cord and has never been replaced.

My new midi has a tenacious grip on the tool plug.

I'm with u!  Older CT's plug in suck. I bought one of those cheap three ways and pluged it in and it's a lot better. Would be nice to have more than one plug.

Guys, we have a warranty for a reason.  [smile] Please take advantage of it if you need to.

The outlets are pretty easy to replace yourself. So, it's just a matter of calling the service hotline and getting one sent. No need to go without your CT while it's sent for repair. Of course, if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, it can be sent in for repair.

Shane, mine is six yrs old.  I think it is fine when it's new and slowly gets loose over time. I just need to order a new one.

I got tired of dealing with that on my old CT22 so I got a 2' extension with three outlets on one end.  I leave that plugged into the CT and plug and unplug into the extension as needed.

That's a good solution which i think I'll use.

When i was in mason biz, I had lots of hired help.  All of the plugs for my electric tools would bread wiring at the receptacle end.  Nobody would grab the plug itself to pull, just grab the cord, svn if at the tool end, and give a yank.  Eventually, the cord would break, or one of the wires would split the insulation.  Now, I work alone and never have that problem.  I have not had the plug ends wear down so the plug falls out, but it does seem to be a little loser.  I don't have to stretch the cord so maybe that's why it doesn't fall out.
