Does Festool repair the blade for the 55
I hit something and one of the teeth broke off about 1/2" down
If possible I would like to get this repaired as I have only used the saw 3 times and the replacement blade is $70

If the tooth that broke off and did not bend, you should still be able to use it without any worries. What does the cut look like after you use it? Generally if a tooth snaps off and not just the carbide tip, it needs to be replaced as it will cost about as much to fix it, if at all possible.

I really appreciate everyone's help
The blade seems to work fine even with the missing tooth, I am posting a photo
If it's possible I will get it repaired as I will feel more comfortable,
Thanks
Marvin

We have had this happen at work several times. And when I send them out for service, they have said as long as they cut fine, it's only 1 tooth, don't worry about it.
So as long as it's cutting ok your fine.
Here's the blades I started using, they work great ,

I messed up a tooth on my Festool blade, and didn't notice any difference in cut quality, but wasn't as bad as the original posters blade.Where do you get the Freud blades from?  Are they the same kerf as the Festool blades?  What is the cost?  I have tried the Oshlun blades, and they are the same kerf and I am happy and the price is good.

I actually just saw them at Woodcraft, the 48 tooth I think was around $50-55. Can't find them on the website at the moment though.
The kerf is exactly the same as Festool, 2.2mm. They work great, have one in my saw right now.

thats the first time ive seen a brand that has a festool label usage. it has great reviews on amazon.

Purchase another blade while this one is out for service.

Send the damaged one to Leitz, you'll get it back in about a week.

The Freud ripping blade is not the 2.2 kerf. It is the wider 2.5 kerf. I purchased one and measured the kerf width. I returned it for a Tenryu.

You are correct on the ripping blade being 2.5 kerf. But the 48 tooth is still a 2.2 kerf. I have a 28 tooth Freud also which was 2.5 when I got it, I sent it back with our tool service at work and had it ground down to 2.2 and it's worked great so far. Now I know it's not that easy for everyone to have done. But that worked for me in this case.

EDIT> fixed quote box

Hi
Based upon fog suggestion I contacted leitz they advised to leave the blade alone as it cracked below the carbide attachment site, they feel the blade will run fine, they also suggested that if a vibration should occur that I should measure 180 degrees from where it snapped and brakoff that carbide spot
In any event I feel comfortable in using the blade. Thanks to all I really love the fog site and found it to be supportive and helpful
Thx again
Marvin
