I finally got around making blast gates. Now I can enjoy using the Kapex and CS50, not having to swap hose! This is definitely gonna improve the work flow on site.

Festool does make such a blast gate (#497926).
They are meant for the AC versions of the Vacs together with the Planex sander.
Here's my set-up. Only used for not having to switch hoses between two machines.

Nice, they're definitely handy. I only have room to transport one vac so I made one early on.

The vac always sits under my miter stand, I'd like to find a way to have some extension levers so I don't have to bend down every 15 min.

Ideally finding a way to automate the blast gates would be unreal.

Only pic I have shows it 90% complete, I put some finger holes in the sliding gates.

Here is another solution.

Gpowers- very nice ,can you tell me where I could pick those up?

[member=19294]mattdh[/member] the company is Shop-Vac They come in a kit:http://www.shopvacstore.com/product/sawdust-collection-kit
But I was able to buy just two a spare parts.

A google search found this link. The Vacuum gates are $5.99. You just need to know that shop-vac calls them Vacuum Gates not Blast Gates.http://www.shopvac.com/shopvac-accessories/Products/Vacuum-Gate-for-Sawdust-Coll-Kit__919-36-00.aspx

G - did you modify the small end of the blast gate that you have going into the y portion of the vac set up?

[member=19294]mattdh[/member]  The only modification is the foil tape to make them conductive and a small screw to hold them in place.
