First of all thank you for including me in your crew [smile], noticed it for the first time today.
I think you're always going to have a hard time drilling euro hinge holes in MDF, it's the way the resin and the fibres are bonded. I've just finished making my own 1800x900 MFT top in 18mm MRMDF with the LR32 system and rail using a brand new Festool 20mm hinge cutting bit and it didn't matter what speed I set the OF1400 at or how slowly or quickly I plunged the router, the bit just seemed to burn its way through [sad]. I made the frame work for my workshop cabinets with poplar and the the hinge cutter just flew that, so I think you might have to consider a change in materials.
Just look at it as a chance to buy some more mew toys
