Blum space corner

Has anybody on the FOG ever built or installed one of these?  I'm curious as to whether it really is a more efficient use of a blind cabinet area?

I've looked at these (or similar but by a different company) in many showrooms.  They seem like a waste to me.  In a blind corner with a pull out mechanism you can use around 75-85% of the space in the corner.  With these I have measured that you only use about 45-55% of the corner space.  It is nice having drawers that pull straight out if you are in desperate need of more drawer space, but personally I would rather use the corner with a pull out pot rack or something similar.

I,ve fitted a few of these in the last few years, and I have one working in my showroom. The one I have experience of is the model that fits on the angle in the corner.

It is a very clever system, but it does have a few negative points.

Firstly, there is a lot of wasted space either side of the accessible cabinet. The cabinet dimensions vary, depending on which model you pick, but as European cabinets are in mm (not Inches..........!!!!), mine is 900mm X 900mm. I believe they also do one that is 1050mm X 1050mm.

I only tend to fit them in large kitchens due to the overall waste of usable storage space. Also the price of a cabinet from Germany with this system fitted in it, is a lot of money and it can put a client off when they find out how much it costs.

Another problem that has arisen with them is, if the Drawer fronts need to be removed and re-adjusted, they are a devil to get adjusted correctly. Even the slightest bit out of adjustment and they dont work correctly and the drawers stay open.

Having said that, as with almost everything from Blum, the quality of the fittings is excellent.

Thanks guys.  This would be going into a very small kitchen (my kitchen, no less), so I was hoping that it would be a more efficient use of space.  If I do a blind corner cabinet, I would only have a 13" (maybe a touch less) opening to access the blind area.  Not ideal, but I also don't want to experiment with something new like this in my own kitchen.
