Here is the link to the softblocks.
Thanks.

However it sounds like your actual hinges are euro self closing.

Ya, that's what I thought too...very curious...I am confused...although that's quite common for me...

Finally back...

Here is a photo of the actual hinges in the cabinets.  As I noted in my original post, that cabinet door, the one with the barrel hinges, was a "test" stand-in.

Should work fine.....however if it was me, I would return those hinges and pistons, and buy blumotion compact hinges instead.  More than one solution though, and just installing the aftermarket pistons might be the easiest/best in your situation.  Good luck!

I have a feeling this is a retro fit on existing casework.

Those are not Blum hinges in Green's photo. See how the cup area is cut in more, they could be 42 mm centers instead of 45 mm centers, look the same but not interchangeable.

Plus there are enough variations within the Compact range that Green may be turning purple trying to get the right fit...

From the looks of the mounting bracket, those are probably 1" to 1 1/4" overlay hinges.

Purple may be a good look for him.

Tom

Well, maybe I would turn purple, if, being colorblind, I could tell what purple looked like. [embarassed]

Based on some of the responses about just replacing the hinges, I may stop at the client over the weekend and either take measurements or borrow one to track down model number, etc...

If not too expensive, the client would be willing to swap out the hinges for a cleaner look and better performance.

I must also take a moment to thank everyone for their input. This is really one great community. [big grin]

Well, we finally got out to the client and snagged one of the hinges...

It's a MEPLA and the only identifying mark is 9M.  It "looks" like a 1/2" overlay hinge.  I have been trying to find detailed specs on this thing, but to no avail.  One thing I did discover is these things cost less per piece than the Blum soft-close plungers, by at least half.

Anyone out there know where I could locate the specs or know a good quality Blum self-close/soft-close hinge that would be an exact replacement, i.e. just R&R?

Thanks, again, for everyone's help.

Mepla is now own by Grass
Grass does make soft close hinges
But you will need to check the hole pattern
Blum is 45mm and Mepla could be 42mm(mounting hole screw)
I think that Grass has both holes patern
As far as where to go
I get my supplies from the Wurth group (locally)

As MasterCab pointed out--you must get the mounting screw on center. The 42's are harder to come by that the 45's.

Check Woodworkers Hardware.com and build.com

Okay... Let me ask this. Could the holes be about 47 or 48 mm? I just measured the holes center to center and that is about what they are, and the depth of the hole is 9mm.

Yes 48mm is known as the "mepla pattern".
Grass and mepla hardware is available at hafele and cabinetparts.com

Thanks Tim. Time to hop over to cabinetparts and see what's available as a direct replacement.

But does Mepla makes a soft close version of it?

I intend to find out. If not, our fallback is to use the Blum plunge closers we have. But I gotta find out ASAP. I have but a few days remaining to return them...
