here are several pics of this bookcase unit I built.  I used the parrell guides to cut up all the rips and it saved me time and they worked great.

the shelvess were drying at the time... I will add pic with them in on sunday or monday

Very nice cabinet. That thing is huge, really fills the space. I like the bead board back panel and rope detail on the crown mould, really adds a lot. Did you use MDF for the body? What's the finish? It looks to clean and flat for a roll or brush job. Did you spray it.
How about some little pod or rope lights in the top on a dimmer. I love accent lighting on dimmers.

toolman..... it took  2 1/2 days and 1 day for my painter to prime caulk and paint.  thank you !

it is 128" long.  nope I only use  birch cabinet ply the better one. and for the rails etc clear pine (sometimes I use popular)    the finish is sherwin williams primer and sherwin williams super paint satin ( the best paint I have used )  and it was brushed and weenie rolled.  oh after primer coat sand then paint.

lights would look great they already have can lights throughout the room and since this is for books mainly (however it is for some women so you know there will be nick nacks !)  and no glaass shelves.

thanks

Do you have under construction photos you can post? You've given me an idea to build something equivalent but on a smaller scale for an alcove in one of our rooms. I really like the quality of the work you've done. It seems you leave a trail of gob-smacked clients everywhere you go.

When you say, 2 1/2 days, does that includes getting material and set up? Do you have a helper? Did you build it at your shop and took it there?or did you build in place?
Really nice job!    I also like to do this kind of work. Makes you feel good when you step back and look at what you just build! :)

took sheet goods to there house and set up in there garage and yes I had a helper for 1 day.  and yes it is fun to build this kind of stuff with freedom of design and when done the customer goes wow!  give them more than they expect !
