Boom Arm question

OK, my frustration with hose and cord management just went thru the roof. Gonna buy a boom arm, today.

Question is:  Since I do all my work in shop with the CT22 always underneath MFT3 and, sometime this winter I will build an MFT cabinet where the CT22 will live in its own cozy little  home, along with a bunch of other Festool stuff, can I avoid buying the handle and use some very simple work around for now? For example, could I just tie a narrow board to the nearest leg of the MFT to support the boom?

Thanks for your help.

Dave

That's usually what motivates the boom arm purchase.

The handle is an integral part of the boom arm. I think you would be better off buying the set. I think there is a deal on it anyhow if I remember correctly although it may have been a Canadian offer.

If you do not want the boom-arm to be mobile you can do as you wish. But in your case I would just make a shop built boom arm. Several members a have done so using PVC pipe. Why spend all the money, for the Festool boom-arm, if you are not going to attach it to the CT22?

hi there
if you want the boom arm on the ct then you will need the handle. by the sounds of it you are in a similar position to myself. i never take the boom arm out of the shop (i do take the ct thow). i bolted my boom arm to the wall so that i could just roll up the ct and conect it up. it works perfectly. if i was in your position i would look at the threads on making a boom arm your self as it will save you a lot of money.
