Amazon currently (8/14/2022) has the Bosch VAC005 hose for 29.99

this is a 35mm hose 5 meters long. It will take a Festool 36mm tool hose end without a problem. I use one on my saws and the routers. It is not anti static but I don't use it for sanding much..

Great hose. I think i paid about $35 for mine 6 years ago. The Amazon price has been fluctuating between 30 and 35..

Thanks Ron.  $48 tonite [8/18/22]  I added to my watch list. Might get one for the miter saw, to free up the Festool hose for other uses.

I use that hose for shop cleaning, the extra length is handy.
Since it isn’t an AS hose I wipe it with a fabric softener “wipe” occasionally.

I have the Festool plastic vac accessory kit and wiping those parts with the fabric softener really reduces the amour dust sticking to the surfaces.

What festool part numbers are needed to shorter it and use with a kapex?

It seems like it'd work with a Kapex as is. The vacuum end looks to be fused on there but fits CTs. The business end threads on the hose and plugs right into my Makita. If I wanted to use the hose with my routers or vacuum wand I'd try the 500670, but because I'm going to cut it up I'm just going to use the end that came with.

Edit add that I changed my mind and picked up a FES500670 for the saw end and it's the business. Much better airflow than the stock Bosch. It also mates into the vac end of a stock 27mm Festool hose, making for a quick hose extension. Returning to part numbers, I think the vacuum end for this hose would be the FES 202860.

I bought the same Bosch hose but the model with the vent hole, and find the 35mm end is just fine with everything, but the larger end is just the tiniest smidge narrower diameter than the Festool, but it has a rubber seal on it so once it's turned on it holds fine.

Yeah that's kind of my take; the Bosch and Festool hoses seem to be within a mm or so.  Some of the Bosch hoses are at a price point where you can just dedicate it to a tool, & use tape or whatever.
