Thats the problem isnt it JMB. Yeah. Have a bad 1, it happens but it also mean im not going to buy another 1. You tell me how poor dewalt is and how rubbish they are but then say how good the nail gun is. Mate of mine has 1 and it bends the pins alot and jams. They dont even leave the gun. Or double fires. When it works its great.

Yes I know I don't like dewalt and I don't like saying it but the dewalt nail gun is a good cordless nail gun.

Its just too big. Im gonna get a small compressor and a moe flexi hose for it, any recommendations

I like the look of that,

What would u say is a good portable compresser?
And long hose.

Id only be second fixing with the one gun so dosent have to be that powerfull, im more worried about the weight needs to be as light as poss

The small compressor I have just got is the Senco PC1010.

[attachthumb=#]

I had the small Stanley compressor from Screwfix and it was handy from a size point of view but it blew fuses regularly and after 13 months the motor gave up so its now in the skip.

I dragged my 25 litre compressor around for a couple of weeks while I did some research and the Senco has had great reviews and Sean at Toolnut in NYC recommended it.

Found a UK supplier (Warren at Toolfest/Bunny's Bolts) that was the best price. Ordered at 2pm, arrived by courier 9am next morning. First class service and a real nice bloke, well recommended.

The Senco is really, really quiet, and easy fires 23g, 18g, and 16g but obviously recycles more than a big compressor but it is brilliant in my mind. £99 to replace the dodgy Stanley with another one from Screwfix or £160 for what is a far superior piece of kit.

No brainer really.

I recentely bought a Bostitch GFN1664K-E (16 Gauge, 25-64 mm nails).
Did some comparison between different models already mentioned above and different types: compressor, battery and gas.
Finally bought the Bostitch and never had any regret. Never thought about a gasnailer, but once used I will never do a job without it.
Just attach something with one hand, that's very handy.
It's very lightweight (1.7kg), no hassle with a hose. The battery only models from DeWalt and Bosch are way to heavy.

jmb i have a real dilemma mate, amazon are doing the angle 15 gauge for £219 including shipping and import fees, and supposedly it will use paslode gas and nails as well.

I know i can get at least £260-290 for my paslode IM65A as its just come out from a paslode  service and is in very good condition, but im fed up as it cost over £100!!!

Have u used the bostitch range?

No sorry,  I would love to try one out.  I don't even know any one who has one to give comment.  My local dealer says they are good but he will say that he has told me a few things are good  and I knew they were crap so his comment means nothing.

I like the look of the bostitch and if wanted a gas powered nail gun I would be going for the bostitch my self.  Not just cus it looks a nice gun but bostitch are a good brand but still I would be taking a risk buying it.

Sorry cant help.

What I can say I think the hitatchi and bostitch are pretty much the same gun.  All the parts and shape and batteries look pretty much identical just different colour .

Ok thanks anyway,

I think im gonna take the plunge and sell me paslode,
i know in the back of my mind when I'm using the paslode all im going to be thinking is, is it going to jam or just not fire, and im not paying another £100 pounds on it thats for sure.

I looked at the senco fusion and thought wow, looked at a few youtube vids, and thought hmm its a little pricey but maybe,

but then started reading users problems with them and thought better of it lol

Well yeah check out two pictures on google.   You can see its all the same shape and vent holes and e sliding clip to hold the nails up is same.  The nail gun end to release the front if you get a jammed nail is the same the top is the same.

Only difference hitachi has slightly different mould on the surface to make it more alien looking and bostitch is more plain but the shape of all the parts are identical.    I just had another look before I made my comment and loaded two images up on my iPad and found its identical.

I have the Bostitch now for half a year, but no heavy duty use.
By the way I bought it second hand for a fair price (€275) but it was new and never used by the former owner.
